The 27 units known as the Whitney and Sloo Lofts is a large four story building on the corner of Notre Dame and Tchoupitoulas Street is one of the early conversions of a warehouse into condos. The conversion was made in 1997 from a leather factory into condos…

The condos have large rooms, lots of closets, lots of windows, high ceiling, exposed brick, lot of natural light, some wood floors, and large bathrooms. The condos were larger in this time period. The one bedroom units have over 1000 sq. ft. of living and the two bedroom units have at least 1400 sq. ft. Many of the tow bedrooms are larger. There are a couple of townhouse units on the rooftop.

The ground floor is mainy for parking in the secure garage. There is a small lobby with elevator to the upper floors. Just park and enter the lobby.

Many of the units have been upgraded over the years. The large bathrooms and closets are unusual for the Warehouse District but they were designed that way in the 1990’s.

The roof top spaces are very large with some great city views. Its a lot of space for a small complex and never crowded.

The units have a lot of windows since the workers of the leather factory needed lots of light to work. The ceilings are 11 feet high with spaces being very large.
