Finding Condos for University Students
in Uptown New Orleans
Tulane University on St. Charles Avenue
Audubon Park is Across the Street from Tulane and Loyola University. Down the Street From Loyola Law School.
The areas around the Universities are mostly residential. Audubon Park is across the street and covers several square miles to the Mississippi River. There are few large buildings that could have been converted to condos.
You will find some residential condos which I call neighborhood condos that have been converted to condos to multi-family homes. There are a few apartment complexes that have been converted into condos. The majority of the buildings are small 1920's apartments converted into condos.
Many of the nearby condos have little turnover as many people keep them as second homes after students graduate or rent them out to other students. We see this more and more over the last ten years.
With the shortage of nearby places I often sell units to students, medical students, law students, graduate students condos along St. Charles Avenue. There are some larger complexes with several miles. People can take the streetcar to school and drive as many will have gated parking.
You find the same issue with medical students wanting to be near the hospitals and LSU or Tulane Medical Schools. The Warehouse District condos are a great plaace to be but have gotten more expensive over the years. So looking Uptown on St. Charles Avenue and along Magazine Street has become a norm.
