The Condos at 1205 St. Charles Ave near Lee Circle are in the first condos in the Uptown New Orleans as you leave the New Orleans Warehouse District. The 14 story structure was formally a 1954 Hotel and an apartment complex in later years but turned into condos in 2004. The 224 condos are going to be small and feel much like a hotel room. The units have all been redone by the developer and feature wood floors, granite counter tops, new appliances, small kitchens, moderate condo fees and an assigned parking spot. The ceilings are low and the windows are just windows. There is no historic feel for these condos unlike most of the condos in the Warehouse District. There are a lot of small and inexpensive units in the complex which you will not find in the Warehouse District.
The plus to the condos are the secure parking, on site management, sauna, workout exercise room, swimming pool and outdoor deck, secure entrance, on site security and a nice lobby or common area. I would look at the inexpensive units in the building and not the higher priced ones as there are other complexes where you can get more condo for your money.
