The Faubory Marigny
New Orleans Neighborhoods

Step out of the French Quarter by crossing Esplanade Avenue and you are in the Marigny Neighborhood of New Orleans. The Marigny extends to the Bywater Neighborhood along the Mississippi River and N. Rampart. The area ends at Franklin Avenue when the Bywater starts.  The area is residential and with a commercial space here and there.

The Marigny was the second suburb in New Orleans established in 1806 by the division of a Creole Plantation.

When you have seen and heard enough of Bourbon Street experience life in New Orleans the way the locals do. Great music and food any day of the week, Faubourg Marigny has all the life and vivaciousness of a real life New Orleans neighborhood. Frenchman Street is the place for live music, eats and drinks.

From a Real Estate agents view you will see more doubles in this neighborhood as any other. The same can be said about the Bywater.  As an area becomes more popular you will see conversions of these doubles into singles and into condos.
