A new 8 unit conversion worth mentioning are the Lake Breeze Condos at 209 Opal which has just been converted and totally renovated. These are flats selling in the 219k and 233k range across from Lakeshore Drive. The other is Marseilles Condos at 232 Lake Marina which are all large pent houses starting in the 700k and up range. The living areas are over 3000 sq. ft. per unit and are only a few years old. The prices were before people added anything they wanted. Lakeview, the neighborhood is a small 1950's town next to a big city. You are close to everything, The CBD, Lake Pontchartrain, City Park the marina, running paths, bike riding, grocery stores and appreciating property values. The residents have voted it a special taxing district for extra security so it is very safe. There are no Wal Marts, Mega Stores and you don't have to get on I-10 to go places. The area is growing in value with many homes being upgraded , new homes being built where old ones were, and some nice town homes being built in the area. The demand has been so good that the area of Lakeview is expanding. |
